Overview – 5 Days Serengeti safari

In our 5 days Serengeti safari, you will experience the game viewing in Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti. These are some of the most spectacular national wildlife game parks in Tanzania.

Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas. It’s consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

As well, you will visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. The tour will further take you to the Serengeti National Park – in the heart of wild Africa. It’s a massive wilderness of 14,763 square kilometers, where each day brings a new landscape and a new experience.

While this is a suggested or sample Tanzanian safari itinerary, it can change to suit your budget and preferences. And as well as, for any seasonal changes or migratory animal movements.

Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Serengeti safari

Day 1. Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

You’ll be picked up from your Lodge and, leave for a full-day tour at Lake Manyara National Park. At noon, the driver-guide will drive you to a picnic site for a picnic lunch. Soon after lunch, the game viewing tour continues as much as it’ll be before checking out the park. A check-out will be followed by a transfer to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation is sleeping in a camping tent at a public campsite – inside or outside the park. Please, let us know your preference! Meal Plan: Full Board

Day 2. Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Leave your campsite after early breakfast for Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you reach Ngorongoro Conservation gate, you’ll stop a while there for formalities and then check in to proceed to Serengeti. You might expect a lovely game viewing en-route to the Serengeti. On arrival in Seronera (the middle of the park) you’ll continue with a tour. Later in the afternoon, the driver-guide will transfer you to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3. Serengeti Full-day tour 

Today is a full day in the Serengeti, so, the guests get more time to explore this must-see park.

Day 4. Serengeti Half-day tour 

Waking-up for an early morning game viewing drive here is advantageous. As it’s a half-day game drive is due to take place in the exploration of this lovely park. Therefore, wake up early with a light breakfast for an early morning game drive, and then return for the full breakfast. Serengeti is the leading park that has different kinds of mammals in the world. Besides, it has several kinds of birds slightly over 500. 

The afternoon is the time when you will now head for the check out at Naabi Hill gate. From here, you’ll re-enter Ngorongoro Conservation Area and proceed to the Simba Public campsite for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation is sleeping in camping tents at Simba public campsite.

Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater tour/Arusha 

Depart the camp as soon as you finish breakfast with a drive to the crater entry at Seneto. From here, an about 15 minute-drive down into the crater starts. You expect to enjoy a half-day game drive in the crater for 6 hours. A picnic lunch is beside the small lake, Engotokitok. After the picnic lunch, ascending the crater begins and proceed to Loduare, the exit gate. From here, a 3-hour drive back to Arusha takes place.
